For the past three years, colleagues from all of Informa’s London offices have come together to take part in Walk the World’s biggest walk. Last year, over 900 of us collectively walked almost 20,000km and raised £45,000 for various charities. This year’s set to be the biggest yet and we’re hoping to smash our 2019 fundraising goal of £60,000! This year’s London walk also sees the introduction of some extra special features including a new 25km walk option, an exclusive boat crossing and a bigger, bolder afterparty venue. Take a look below for all the fun details.

All distances, crossing the River:
You’re probably wondering how we are crossing the river? Theories have been spreading, and no, it’s not the Rotherhithe Tunnel, and no, we’re not swimming either! A few of you have guess it, that’s right… for the very first time WTW London welcomes an exclusive River Thames boat crossing! Step on deck and give those tired legs a short break before docking and heading on the final stretch to Hawker House. We’re so excited to bring another element to our London walk this year! If you’re sea legs aren’t too sturdy though just get in touch to let us know.
The wait is over! We are so excited to announce that this year’s WTW London afterparty will be hosted at the epic Hawker House!
This incredible street feast warehouse will be entirely ours for the night, featuring an epic 11 street food and drink traders. This place has all the ingredients for a truly incredible experience: After stepping across the finish line dive into wood-fried pizzas, pillowy-soft steamed buns and unbelievably moreish vegan doughnuts.
No doubt, you’ll want to rest those tried feet and there's lots of space to move around and relax, so soak up the summer weather outside in the tropical tiki paradise with seats galore.
As promised, it’s bigger, bolder and certainly unique!
About the charity
World Child Cancer:
Our partnership with the charity began in 2018, and in its first year they were chosen as our Walk the World charity. If you choose to walk for them this year then everything you raise before the 30th June will be doubled by the UK Government as part of their Gift of Growing Up campaign. This will ensure that they can improve diagnosis, treatment and support for even more children with cancer, and their families, in nine programmes in Africa, Asia and Central America, giving them the gift of growing up. Colleagues at Informa Engage made this amazing video to promote the appeal https://youtu.be/9qnb6NSox9c
We have partnered with Mind since early 2017, when the business decided to support a charity dedicated to one of the nation’s biggest health epidemics: mental health. Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Mind have been a charity partner for Walk the World for the past two years, and we have also run several fundraising initiatives for them such as bake sales and World Cup parties. Additionally, we organised a ‘Learning Lab’ with Mind to help colleagues understand more about their fantastic initiatives, and the difference that their donations make.

We have partnered with The Passage since April 2016. In that time colleagues have helped the charity through fundraising, in kind giving and by using their skills to help the charity progress.
