I’m celebrating 10 years of Walk the World with Informa by raising money for WWF

Since it’s inauguration, Walk the World has encouraged Informa colleagues around the globe to spend time together outside the office, to have fun and make an impact for local charities. Over the past 10 years, we’ve almost raised a collective £2 million for these charities – will you support me and help us raise even more?

This year, I’m taking part in Informa’s Walk the World - a charity walk to raise funds for WWF — the World Wide Fund for Nature — and it’s a cause that means a lot to me and my family.

WWF is one of the world’s leading conservation organisations, working to protect endangered species, restore habitats, and tackle the growing threats of climate change. Their mission is to create a future where people and nature can thrive together — and that includes protecting the incredible wildlife that captures the hearts of so many of us.

For my son, that wildlife is anything that lives in the Ocean.

My beautiful boy is autistic, and animals bring him a deep sense of calm and joy. Especially animals in water – sea lions, penguins, dolphins, fish and ducks – they’re his favourites. But his ultimate favourite are sea lions and penguins. Being around them, or even just seeing them, helps regulate his emotions and lights up his world in a way nothing else can. Whether it's watching them swim gracefully through the water, flipping through books, or giggling at his favourite story about Geronimo the Emperor Penguin, they bring him genuine joy, calm, and a connection to the world around him.

That’s why I’m walking — to support the work WWF is doing to protect our oceans and penguin habitats, especially as they face increasing challenges due to melting ice and warming oceans. This walk is a way for me to honour his passion, to help preserve the animals he loves, and to show him that his interests matter and can inspire change.
