I'm Walking the World with Informa and raising funds for charity. Your support is greatly appreciated!
I am Walking the World with Informa in support of The Passage - a London charity aiming to end homelessness for good! Will you support me, please?
Homelessness in England (and globally) has been greatly exacerbated by the effects of Covid, the housing crisis, and the growing costs of living which disproportionally affect the most vulnerable in our communities. Young people, BIPOC, members of the LGBTQ+ communities, and those living with disability are especially vulnerable to economic and housing instability. In 2019/2020 there were over 10.72 thousand people sleeping rough in London with over 2.7 thousand of them on the streets of the borough of Westminster.
The Passage operates on ground, from the hart of Westminster, providing practical support to help transform the lives of people who are street homeless with routes to employment, benefits and accommodation. Over the past 12 months The Passage have supported 375 people experiencing homelessness into safe accommodation and have prepared and distributed over 90,000 meals out of their Emergency Food Hubs.
Each year, Walk the World encourages Informa colleagues in all locations around the world to spend time together outside the office, to have fun, and to raise money for local charities – this year we’re aiming to collectively walk the distance of the equator!
I am walking 20kms and raising money to end homelessness because I believe having a home is a human right. Your donations to my chosen charity are greatly appreciated!
