We will again be traversing across our beloved city, drinking in the sites of the River Thames, along with the boats, riverside bars and expansive views. However, this time we will head West towards Richmond Park. There is the addition of a Marathon walk (42kms) for those who dare! Please have a look at this guide when preparing for the marathon walk.
Choose your distance:
5km 10km 20km Marathon
Everyone taking part will get two free drinks and a meal at a pub in Richmond. Everyone who has participated previously is encouraged to reuse their WTW t-shirt if at hand (think of the planet!), though you can order a new one when registering. Those undertaking the marathon distance will receive a special technical t-shirt. We are starting earlier this year to allow more time for everyone to get home; food will be available from 3pm ’til 8pm. There is a direct line to Waterloo from Richmond, with several trains taking just 15 minutes. Richmond is also on the district tube-line and orange overground, Zone 4. We encourage our colleagues to donate £10 to the office charity when registering for the walk. This can be done when you register or in the section below.
Would you like to help and make the WTW London 2018, the best one yet? Volunteer to be a marshal today!
Whether you would like to help out for an hour, or two, or do the full day – the team would appreciate any help. If you still want to walk the walk yourself, you can help out for the first section of the 10km or 20km, and join your colleagues for the rest of the walk!
If you would like to help out on the day, send an email to email@example.com.
Our London offices will support 3 local charities. Building existing relationships, we hope that volunteering opportunities complement our fundraising to create a bigger impact long term.

Global Support and Global Exhibitions support The Passage
Colleagues at 5 Howick Place are uniting to raise money for their charity partner, The Passage. The charity, which seeks to end homelessness, engages in street outreach work and also runs a resource centre and hostel, helping hundreds of local people to be rehoused and find work.
As colleagues at 5HP, we are faced with the issue on a daily basis as the presence of homelessness is an inescapable part of life at London Victoria. Over the past year, colleagues have delivered Sales Force training to staff, created marketing material for events and delivered communications and branding support. In addition, we have cooked lunch for clients on a number of their kitchen takeover days.
In WTW 2017, colleagues raised 10.5K, and we were awarded an extra £2K by Informa for winning Top Charity Partnership and Highest Fundraiser (Annette Purdy alone raised nearly £3K), and an extra £4.5K based on participation figures.
To volunteer with this charity, or to join the 5HP charity committee, email Fiona.firstname.lastname@example.org
Knowledge & Networking and Academic Publishing support Mind
Colleagues across KNect365 in London will be raising money for their charity partner, a mental health charity, Mind. Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Our colleagues are the heart of our organisation, and looking after their wellbeing is of upmost importance. Every year, 1 in 6 British workers are affected by conditions like anxiety, depression and stress, making Mental ill-health the leading cause of sickness absence in the UK. By working with Mind, we are helping to tackle this problem.
Walk the World provided the perfect platform to launch this partnership in 2017, as we know that there is a strong link between physical activity and wellbeing. Following the fundraising focus, we hope that creating an ongoing partnership will have a positive impact across our offices, creating opportunities for volunteer days, learning more about mental health and using our skills to support the work they do. During WTW 2017, colleagues in Maple House and KNect House raised over £8K, with £4K added on by Informa for participation, let’s try and raise even more now!
Business Intelligence supports World Child Cancer
Colleagues across BI in London will be fundraising for World Child Cancer. World Child Cancer is a new partnership for BI. They twin hospitals in resource rich countries with those with limited resources to train healthcare workers and improve the quality of care available to children with cancer, regardless of where they are born. WCC campaign to ensure national and international stakeholders are aware of the importance of investing in improving the access and quality of healthcare, including essential medicines, for children with cancer worldwide.
As well as fundraising through WTW, BI will be strengthening its ties to the charity by applying their business skills to specific project areas.
