Upon entering Shawnee Mission Park, colleagues should follow the signs to the Marina, where there is a large lot to park in, water fountains, and restrooms. We will meet up at Shelter 4. We will start out on the paved pathway heading west along the lake, towards Mill Creek Streamway Park. We will follow the looped trail around the creek, which will turn us back east along the lake again towards our parking. Maps will be available. The total distance is about 5km, with benches for rest breaks along the route if needed, and a 2km walking option. Please be advised that this route is only partially shaded; remember to be prepared with a hat and sunscreen.
