Walk description

During these unusual times we may be physically separated, but together in spirit the Boston, Cambridge, and Burlington offices will still walk and raise funds for some great charities. We'll be doing a virtual walk on Thursday June 4th. As has become customary in the age of social distancing, we will walk together but apart.

I invite you to chart your own route on Thursday June 4th, any time before 4 PM EST! Find a place in your neighborhood or nearby that is accessible and safe to walk or run either a 5K or a 10K. Please make sure you take all social distancing precautions: keep at least 6 feet away from others and wear a mask if appropriate. Try to find routes that are secluded. Let’s walk, but also be cautious and safe!

If you have your Walk the World shirt from last year handy, please wear it during your walk. Don't forget to take photos! Make signs to hold in your photo, maybe something about Walk the World, Cradles to Crayons, Global Genes, or why you’re walking – be creative! I’m planning to stitch all the photos together to make a collage.

The Boston and Cambridge offices will again be walking to raise funds for Cradles to Crayons Boston. Many of us here in the Boston office have volunteered at The Giving Factory, Cradles to Crayon's warehouse, helping put together Kid Packs for children in need throughout the state of Massachusetts and we're excited to be supporting this wonderful organization yet again. Cradles to Crayons tackles the serious issue of childhood poverty by providing children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive - at home, at school, and at play. These items are supplied free of charge by engaging and connecting communities. Cradles envisions a world where every child will have the essentials they need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued. All funds raised through our walk will help Cradles to Crayons fulfill their mission. Please learn more at cradlestocrayons.org/boston.

The Burlington Office will be walking to support Global Genes. This charity directly relates to the CBI Rare Disease conference. Global Genes’ mission is to connect, empower and inspire the rare disease community. They envision a globally connected community equipped to eliminate the challenges of rare disease.

This year we are hoping to raise about $3000 for Cradles to Crayons and $3000 for Global Genes. We'll need everyone's help to reach our $6000 goal!

Thanks for registering. Lets Walk the World!
