This walk is the perfect break from the office on a hopefully not too hot summer day in Central Park! Starting at 59th and 5th, by the William Tecumseh Sherman Monument/across from the Apple Store, walkers will get some fresh air while taking in sights that include the Central Park Zoo, Balto Statue, and boating pond. The walk itself should take no more than two and a half hours, and will end with celebratory drinks and appetizers at a nearby bar, the Three Monkeys.
The walk is a complete course of 6 miles/10km, but the Central Park Loop offers multiple transverses that cross the park if a participant is unable to complete the more strenuous part of the course, which is at the top of the map. Please contact Danielle Fontaine (Danielle.Fontaine@taylorandfrancis.com) for any concerns.
We encourage our colleagues to donate $15 to the office charity when registering for the walk.
Literacy Partners – Academic Publishing colleagues
Literacy Partners is a phenomenal organization that is dedicated to closing the achievement gap between low-income and immigrant children in NYC. By supplying parents with the right tools and resources to better help their children, Literacy Partners has helped families to thrive academically. As an academic publisher, it’s time we stood behind a cause that resonates deeply with our industry.
Use the button bellow to donate, or why not set up your own fundraising page and ask friends and family to support you? You may also raise money through activities at home or within the office and add it to your fundraising page. In addition, Informa will be making donations to local charities, click here to learn how to gain more for your charity.
New York Cares – All other colleagues
NEW YORK CARES PROVIDES A SMARTER WAY TO VOLUNTEER.
In the days before New York Cares, volunteering was unnecessarily complicated. The organization’s founders believed that individuals can make a real difference in improving NYC only if they have the necessary tools, which are the same ones that enable the most successful businesses to achieve scale and impact – planning, logistics, measurement, quality control, and customer relationship management. New York Cares has infused volunteerism with business acumen to enable anyone who volunteers through our programs to have a disproportionate impact on New York City.
This relationship will help colleagues to volunteer more easily.
