We will be walking roughly 5km or 10km – a few laps of the beautiful gardens at Kingston Bagpuize House. On the edge of the White Horse Vale, stunning views and a variety of flora and fauna will be the backdrop for the walk.
There will be refreshments, sandwiches, crisps and possibly cake once the walk has been completed.
Helen & Douglas House
Helen & Douglas House in Oxford employs 149 staff and provides specialist palliative care for the terminally ill from children to adults aged 35. Helen House, for children, opened in 1982 and was followed by Douglas House in 2004 as a hospice for young adults. You may or may not know that Douglas House (Helen & Douglas House) is shutting down due to a lack of funding. This is a huge blow to them and unfortunately it means that they will now have to stop caring for the adults. Charity shops are likely to close and 40% of the workforce is about to be cut. They are due to close in August 2018. The hospice estimated its income over the last five years was £52.3m, against costs of £55.9 million. If money is not raised then there is also a possibility that Helen House will also close. We have supported Helen & Douglas House for many years but they are in desperate need of help and fund raising.

You may also raise money through activities at home or within the office and add it to your fundraising page. We encourage our colleagues to donate £10 to the office charity when registering for the walk.
